An overview of how we cultivate culture of Teaching, Reaching, and Worship.

What We Believe

I. We believe the Bible is the infallible, inerrant, inspired Word of God.

II. We believe God created everything, including the earth and all that is in it.

III. We believe in the Virgin Birth of Jesus Christ.

IV. We believe in the Death of Jesus Christ on the cross for our sins.

V. We believe in the Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

VI. We believe in the Visible and Imminent Return of Jesus Christ.

VII. We believe in a literal Heaven where the saved shall live eternally, and a literal Hell, where the lost shall forever be separated from God in torment.

VIII. We believe that Salvation is a Gift from God based upon His grace alone and extended to those who will repent of their sin and place their faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

IX. We believe that all believers must be baptized by immersion.

X. We believe that is it the duty and privilege of every Christian to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ to the ends of the earth.

We affirm, teach, and support the principles of Scripture as explained in the 2000 Baptist Faith & Message.

How to Experience Salvation and Become a Member of Slayden Baptist Church

By profession of Faith in Jesus Christ and Baptism:

Publicly stating your faith in Christ, and following Him as Lord and Savior of your life, is the first step in becoming a Christian and a member of a Baptist Church. This is followed by believer's baptism by immersion, an act not necessary for one's Salvation, but one that serves as a visible symbol of what Christ has done to a person's heart. Believer's baptism by immersion is a prerequisite for Slayden Baptist Church membership.

By transfer of letter:

If you are a member of another Baptist Church, you might choose to transfer membership from that church to Slayden Baptist Church. You do this by coming forward and expressing your wish to the pastor, ministerial staff, deacon, or counselor.

By statement:

If you are presently a member of another denomination of like faith, or if your letter is not obtainable, but have professed faith in Christ and experienced baptism by immersion, you may choose to join by statement. This may be done by coming and expressing your wish to a pastor, ministerial staff member, deacon, or counselor.
